LETTER TO SOUTH KOREANSIf your reunification is militarily, your country will again be flattened. If it is peaceful but too soon, you will have to spend much of your accumulated wealth to rebuild North Korea. While caution is understandable, there is a difference between caution and cowardice. Those are your blood brothers and sisters being tortured, maimed and killed in North Korea. Yet your government is the one trying to dampen both domestic and international efforts to help them? Shame on you! If you're that scared of offending Kim Jong Il, what will you do if he threatens to invade if you don't reunify under his rule? And if your government doesn't have the courage to speak out against North Korea, it should at least speak out against the persecution and rape of your people in China and take an active role to help them reach South Korea. Your current policy of "We will give you asylum if you somehow make it to one of our embassies" that forces vulnerable refugees to spend months, even years trekking across China to third countries in Southeast Asia is deplorable and deserves the present international scorn and disdain. To South Korean Christians If you are in China sheltering, feeding, clothing and evangelizing to North Koreans, encouragements to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the One being sheltered, fed and clothed, and who will reward you only as He can. On the other hand, if you are one of those who have turned a blind eye to North Korean Christians out of fear for your own physical and/or economic safety, isn't God in control of things like wars and reunification? Shouldn't you commit such things to Him and simply obey His command? Of the estimated 100,000 North Korean refugees currently hiding in China's North Korean border region only about 100 are evacuated per month to South Korea? If even just 1% of you 14 million South Korean Christians evacuated one refugee each, at least the current backlog would clear. |
